And I agree with you regarding needing infrastructure. It needs to come from somewhere.

I only want what's best for our country. Regardless of political affiliation or philosophy, it it gets the job done I'll support it. Since the spending is already fait accompli I'm hoping that my humble opinion is proven wrong and the spending will indeed stimulate our economy as it is planned. As I mentioned...I don't really care who makes things better or how they do it, as long as it happens. Since the spending has already occurred I'm in a 'wait and see' mode. In my opinion there's no sense in "crying over spilled milk" so we might as well be optimistic. If it doesn't work out this time, we'll know better next time.

I voted for Obama but, like you, I don't belong to a particular party and I'm not 100% sold on how well he is doing. Only time will tell. We'll definitely know more in a few more years.

Only thing I'll mention about spending is that, while I agree with you about over-spending, I do feel that some government spending is necessary. Right now there are just too many areas where infrastructure changes are needed and I don't think many companies are willing to shell out the cash necessary to implement those changes. Only way to really convince companies to put forth the investment is to subsidize part of the cost. While I'm sure part of the stimulus bill will help with that there will likely be a bunch of areas that will still need attention. Again. only time will tell. :)

Ok...I have to comment. That is quite funny. But in reality...while I don't miss the Bush administration in the least...I'm not any happier with Obama. In the last election I didn't vote for either Republican or Democrat. Actually I voted specifically against both parties. I wrote in Ron Paul. I just want change. It seems as if the actual performance between the two parties is really blurring over the years. They might say they have different platforms, but you'd never know it by actions. For history sake...I voted for Reagan & Clinton but against both Bush's and Obama. In the last several elections I've voted outside the bipartisan block.

Now to be honest...the Obama administration has made some big changes. Just not the direction I'm personally inclined to think will strengthen our economy or country as a whole. His unparalleled spending scares the heck out of me. I actually really liked Ron Pauls strong stance on decreasing government dramatically. I think government pork barrel spending is out of control. The only way to limit that in the short term is to limit overall government size. This could get really big and turn into a slug-fest really fast. I'm not slamming Obama particularly...just saying my opinion on government spending to stimulate economy lies in a different direction. I would be happy to be proven wrong by the future.
