Sorry Jim, I guess when I read "you ain't gettin' much either" I took that to imply that my sex life stunk. Guess I was wrong. I try not to assume anything, especially when it comes to a simply one sentence comment. Definitely seemed just as tongue-in-cheek as the subject of my blog post but, heck, these days you never can tell.

Definitely won't criticize your 35 years of marriage. If you're still happily married then that is definitely a hell of an accomplishment. And, yeah, your time at home should never be taken for granted. My wife and I definitely don't take our marriage for granted. I work from home so I have to discipline myself to turn off "work mode" and turn on "husband mode". So, yeah, I can definitely relate.

Also, I really don't blog all that much. On average, I write maybe one or two a week depending on how much time I have available. I'm very much a GTD kind of guy ("Getting Things Done" by David Allen. Good book!) so I value my time. I only blog when I have the personal time to do so and I never let it interfere with time spent with my wife and family.

As far as my dislike for Ann Coulter, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's an obsession. Rather, I would say that Ann Coulter is just a really big target. Ann has no problems claiming herself as the mouthpiece of the far right-wing conservative movement. Yeah, I could write about other right-wing personalities like Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly, and many others but, to be honest, I just don't have the time to dig into everything these guys have to say on a regular basis. Ann's stuff is more accessible since she really only blogs about once a week or so.

Why do I bother writing about Ann's blather? Simple. Because her writings illustrate a problem within our society. Ann and other members of the right-wing whack-job fan club seem intent to put labels on everything in our country. Basically, if you don't agree with her and others like her, if you don't share their philosophy and beliefs then, for all intents and purposes, you are evil. I take great offense to it because that line of thinking can cause a lot of harm to the American public. As such, rather than sitting idly by and allowing people like Ann to fill others with lies and hate, I intend to speak out and point out the fallacy of every thought and idea that Ann has.

In the course of this Presidential election, Ann has been on a blitzkrieg of highly volatile commentary. I supported Obama. And it's not because I was somehow delusional and caught up in the hoopla but rather because I took a hard look at who this guy is and felt he was the right person for the job. However, Ann seemed intent to associate Obama with Hitler, Lucifer, terrorism, and everything that is evil in the world. It's an insult to my intelligence because it's clearly a distortion of the truth.

Even now, after Obama has won, Ann is incapable of even giving Obama the benefit of the doubt. If she was to come out and say, "You know, I'm a right-wing conservative and don't agree with Obama's policies. However, I'm willing to give Obama the benefit of the doubt and will support any right-wing conservative Republicans that are willing to do the same and will work with the Obama campaign for the benefit of our nation." I swear, if I heard or read anything like that, I would not be near as critical of Ann as I am. Till then though, as long as Ann Coulter continues to write poison, I'll continue adding my own commentary and calling her out on her bullshit.

Hey Jeff
Why do I think your sex life sucks? I don't recall having said that. You wrote over 2300 words (I know, most of it was C&P), but it takes a lot of time. You've only been married three years!!?? Jeezuz why do you spend anytime out side the bedroom. The honeymoon isn't even over!!
Now, I know you have a keen interest in political commentary, but your dislike of Ann Coulter approaches an obsession. Remember, hate is not the opposite of love, indifference is. Go for a nice walk with the wife and give the keyboard a rest.

Although, Ive been married for about 35 years and the last thing I want to do is take time from my wife and spend it on a computer. BTW-I did this at work, during lunch. My time at home is way too valuable for this.

Good luck to you,
Jim

Mind being a little more specific, Jim_NH? Exactly what comments imply that my sex life sucks? Besides, I made it very clear at the beginning of my post that the subject line was an attempt to be just as outlandish as Ann gets. It was meant to be very tongue-in-cheek. Mind being a little more constructive next time?

BTW, I've been happily married for nearly 3 years now. My relationship with my wife is great, we're best friends, and our sex life couldn't be any better. Thanks.

I love this video. I'm a huge fan of Sally Anthony and I know for a fact she has gotten multiple death threats because of this video. Everybody who is going to vote on 11/4 needs to see this and bravo to Sally for taking a stand and making a video that most artists would never dream of making.

Rhill20, thanks a bunch for your comment. Some good, solid constructive points there. :D

One thing I will comment on is your time in the military. I don't know if you've served time in Iraq or the Middle East or not. One thing I will say is that no matter what anyone says your time in the military is honorable. Others, like myself, have been opposed to the Iraq war. That doesn't make us unpatriotic. Just because we disagree on something doesn't mean that we don't support the troops. I very much support the troops. I may disagree with the war but I damn well support the troops and the treatment of our soldiers when they return. Just a thought I had upon reading your comment.
